Adopt a Soldier

Each year during the holiday season, EVS Realty Advisors reaches out to one soldier stationed overseas and sends much needed supplies to him or her and their buddies. The soldier is typically someone that a staff member knows or is a friend of a friend. Below is a message from our soldier in 2009:
“This is Frank Sgroi. Sorry that this message is a little late. Things have been very busy around here lately. I just got back to Iraq about a week ago and today has been my first day off to be able to catch up on things. I wanted to write you to say thank you very much for all the packages that I received while I was in Italy from your work. It was absolutely amazing all the gifts and snacks that were in there. There was no way that I could eat everything in there, so I made sure to give plenty to the others in my squadron. They were really excited to have the snacks and it was all gone within a matter of a couple hours. Everything is greatly appreciated by all of us and they are all great reminders of home and boosted everyone’s spirts. Thank you again for everything and I hope everything is going well at home. I look forward to coming back and seeing St. Louis this summer.“
Downtown Unplugged; the Big Electronics Recycling Event

In 2009, EVS Realty Advisors co-founded the City of St. Louis’ first annual downtown e-cycle drive which took place on June 24, 2009, on Market Street right in front of Gateway One. Entitled “Downtown Unplugged” the electronics recycling event collected numerous electronic items from nearby office buildings and businesses. Residents were also encouraged to participate. Results from Downtown Unplugged were: 178 cars and 16 businesses participated in this event; over two tractor trailers were filled with electronics with over 20 tons collected; and businesses and employees donated over 800 electronic items and 154 televisions. In addition, the recycling partner chosen for the event, Web Innovations & Technology Services (WITS) is Missouri’s largest non-profit recycler and gives back to the community through refurbishment and redistribution of computers and other electronics.
